NBA Lakers Ron Artest New Reality Show

With a lot more time on his hands since the Lakers are watching the NBA finals from their couch just like the rest of us, Ron Artest is trying to pitch his on spin on reality.

Word on the curb is Ron Artest is joining teammate Lamar Odom in the world of reality television -- but unlike "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" ... this show actually has a positive social message.

We're told the production company, 44 Blue Productions, hasn't pitched the show to any networks yet ... but they're "very high on it."

We think this is a good look for Ron Artest since he might be getting traded.

The cover also features an eye-grabbing quote that reads “The Year That Changed My Life” – which could be in reference to any number of things given the former Destiny’s Child lead vocalist’s growing profile over the years.

It's hard to believe that after 14 years in the game that Beyonce still gets nervous.  The Daily Mirror. The paper reports that Beyoncé arrived into London yesterday (June 1) to rehearse her set in a private studio as she preps to be the closing act for the Glastonbury festival – a three-day event that her husband Jay-Z also performed for in 2008.

The insider told The Daily Mirror, “Beyoncé is so nervous about the gig she has booked the space for two weeks so she can perfect the set, which will include dizzying pyrotechnics. She’s literally playing with fire.” The source also said that Beyoncé’s hubby Jay-Z and family buddy Kanye West will assist the singer by joining her on her set.

Excerpt from Essence on her 9 month vacation:

had talked about taking a vacation before, but always ended up in the studio after two weeks, so no one believed me. This time, though, I was serious. I was going to give myself a year to do the things I never get to do. Simple things like play with my nephew, pick him up from school, visit museums, go to concerts, see some Broadway shows, learn to cook a meal and spend time with my husband… Yes, I needed some relaxation.

Rihanna Answers Critics And Defends Her Man Down Video

When controversy comes calling, Rihanna’s not hiding under her umbrella.  Ri Ri  called into BET's 106 & Park  on Thursday night to discuss the hubbub swirling around her new video Man Down, in which she plays a rape victim who stalks, targets and eventually shoots her attacker.

"I didn't go into it to make a controversial video: I wanted to make a mini-movie -- something raw and artistic," the gorgeous singer said of the Anthony Mandler-directed clip.

The 23-year-old S&M singer, calling in from a rehearsal in Baltimore, shot back at criticism from the watchdog group, the Parents Television Council, who said in a statement that the video "gives retaliation in the form of premeditated murder the imprimatur of acceptability."

In response, Rihanna called her latest work "art with a message" and said that she's a voice for her fans, adding she's never one to "play it safe" in her art.

“Obviously [the character is] not a cold-blooded killer. It has to be something ... and we decided to hone in on a very serious matter that people are afraid to address.”

“Rape is happening all over the world, and right in our own home, and we continue to cover it up and pretend it doesn’t happen,” she said. “I personally don’t condone violence or murder -- I’ve been abused in the past, and you don’t see me running around killing people in my spare time -- I just want girls to be careful. The Umbrella singer said her message is "not coming from a parent, it's coming from a peer.

She described Man Down as "a song about a girl who has committed a murder that she regrets and is completely remorseful about," and that in "making that into a ... video, we had to go back and see why it happened.

Jennifer Hudson Joins 'The Three Stooges' Movie

A New Day...with the new body, and new attitude Jennifer Hudson is unstoppable these days. Hudson has landed her latest gig, "The Three Stooges" is slated to hit theaters after Hudson's already-filmed Winnie Mandela biopic, "Winnie.".

There are now three nuns in The Three Stooges. Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson has signed on to play Sister Rosemary. She joins Jane Lynch, who's playing Mother Superior, and Larry David, who's playing Mother Mengele.

I'm betting that Sister Rosemary is the nice one at the orphanage where the Stooges come of age, despite the best efforts of the nuns to get the precocious trio adopted. The 20th Century Fox comedy has begun production, with Peter and Bobby Farrelly directing Chris Diamantopoulos (Moe), Sean Hayes (Larry) and Will Sasso (Curly).
